Grape hyacinths (Muscari sp.) and Fritillaria meleagris (Snake’s Head Fritillary, Checkered Daffodil, Frog-cup, Guinea-hen Flower, Leper Lily, Snake’s Head) grow under the Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum).
